In our desire to capture the essence of today's children, we're finding ourselves providing more and more contemporary photography. So in 2008 we created a division within tripod photography called "Real Life", a style that caters specifically to children from 9 months old through High School, featuring three distinctive categories for our children.
Cutie Pies ~ 9 months through 3 years old
Real Kids ~ 3 years old through 12 years old
Urban Youth ~ 12 years old through High School
These categories allow us to concentrate our creative efforts in a session that is totally age appropriate. We can capture a child's personality, their likes, talents, many of the intimacies that make that child yours. Our goal is to let kids be kids.
Session Tips
A typical "Cutie Pies" session is 60-90 minutes. "Real Kids" and "Urban Youth" sessions can last upwards of 2 hours. Even though these are unscripted sessions so to speak, for true success they still must be planned well in advance. Please keep in mind that all Real Life sessions are designed around a single child. For this reason we require a personal in-studio Portrait Consultation. This consultation takes about an hour, and is crucial to the success of a real life session. We'll learn your portrait needs and wants, discuss clothing and props that you are bringing, and the backgrounds, locations and props that the studio will be providing. We will talk about your child's personality, likes and dislikes. We will also decide which of our portrait products are best suited for display in your home: our Stand-Outs, Gallery Wraps and Collages are perfect to enhance any decor.
Real Life sessions are $350 which is due at your Portrait Planning Consultation. Of that $250 will be applied as a portrait credit and applied to your order.
